Got here a little ahead of time but need hotel stay and time to work on car and to repack so we can get Les in.  Our hotel…

This room, the “Christmas Room” was obviously not an appropriate choice this early in August and the one below seemed a much better choice.

But we settled for separate rooms and Matt got Uncle Joe’s Office.

A steppe towards the mountains

 

You cannot appreciate from this, the vast expanses we see here.  My photography just flattens the scale.  We have days of this.

We’ve bought the car

Matt found a decent looking car at a reasonable price and Mark, our friendly mechanic, found “all” the things wrong with it. Well a few things we need to fix, such as legal tyres, loose baffles for starters. Mark then gave us a list of things to look at in more detail to help us prepare. Too late to take it back now.
